The Bold and the Beautiful is heading toward an explosive pregnancy mystery, and Steffy Forrester Finnegan may be at the center of a secret capable of destroying multiple families.
After two positive pregnancy tests and Carter Walton’s desperate attempt to create a fake surrogacy story, Steffy delivers a revelation that changes everything: according to the storyline, the baby is not Carter’s—and apparently not Finn’s either.
Carter arrives at the cliff house just as Steffy is preparing to confess the truth to Finn. Instead of allowing that conversation to happen, Carter pulls Steffy aside and proposes an outrageous plan.
Because Daphne has expressed her desire to have a child through a surrogate she knows and trusts, Carter believes Steffy could pretend to be their surrogate. The baby would then be presented as Carter and Daphne’s through a supposedly legitimate medical arrangement.

Their relationship has repeatedly resurfaced during moments of emotional vulnerability, making Liam an obvious candidate if the show wants to turn this pregnancy into an even bigger family bombshell. However, at this point, Liam being the father remains speculation rather than a confirmed development.
If Liam really is the mystery father, the consequences would be enormous. Finn would have to confront the possibility that his wife became pregnant with Liam’s child while their marriage was already under strain.
Ridge would also face an impossible situation, especially after learning that Carter and Steffy had their own secret affair. What began as one forbidden relationship could suddenly become a much larger Forrester-Spencer crisis.
And then there is Daphne. She currently appears completely unaware of the deception surrounding her dream of becoming a mother.
Carter’s attempt to use a surrogacy arrangement as a cover could leave her devastated if the truth eventually comes out. The emotional damage could be even worse if she discovers that the baby was never connected to her husband in the way she believed.
Taylor may also become a major problem for Steffy. She already senses that her daughter is hiding something, and as a psychiatrist, Taylor could notice the emotional changes that Steffy is desperately trying to conceal. Medical records, pregnancy dates, or an eventual paternity test could expose everything.
The biggest question now is whether Steffy can keep this mystery buried long enough to protect her marriage—or whether the truth about the baby’s father is about to ignite another war between the Forrester, Finnegan, and Spencer families.
