Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Theo Suspects Johnny, Sarah Drifts Back to Xander, and EJ’s Drug Scandal Explodes
Salem is heading into another explosive chapter, and the Days of Our Lives spoilers for Wednesday, September 16, promise secrets, betrayals, romance, and dangerous consequences.
Theo Carver is beginning to suspect that Johnny DiMera is hiding something major, while Sarah Horton finds herself pulled back toward her complicated history with Xander. At the same time, Steve Johnson and Brady Black continue their desperate investigation into EJ DiMera’s alleged drug scandal.
Theo has plenty of reasons to be suspicious. After taking the COO position at DiMera Enterprises in honor of his late mother, Lexie Carver, Theo is trying to bring stability to the family business.
But working alongside Johnny is becoming increasingly uncomfortable. Johnny is acting nervous and distracted, and Theo can sense that something is wrong.
Johnny, meanwhile, is secretly investigating his own father. He has allegedly uncovered disturbing information connected to tainted pharmaceutical pills and the deaths of Sarah’s patient Destiny and her sister Clea.
The situation becomes even more troubling with claims that contaminated pills were buried near the Horton cabin. Johnny’s investigation could put him directly against EJ, and Theo may soon demand answers.
Steve Johnson and Brady Black are also trying to connect the pieces. Their goal is to expose what happened with the contaminated drugs and prove that Holly Jonas was framed.
According to the storyline, EJ allegedly planted pills in Holly’s belongings to divert attention from his own problems, leaving Steve and Brady determined to find evidence strong enough to bring the truth into the open.
But while the investigation intensifies, Sarah Horton is facing a completely different kind of crisis.
Sarah and Brady may appear to be moving forward, but Sarah cannot seem to escape her feelings for Xander Kiriakis. Memories of their passionate and chaotic relationship continue resurfacing.
Xander may have lost his home, his position, and much of his stability, but the connection between him and Sarah remains difficult for either of them to ignore.
Brady is trying to be the dependable choice, but Sarah may be realizing that stability is not necessarily what her heart wants. Her investigation into the drug scandal has also brought her closer to Xander again, especially because Xander is willing to use his darker skills to uncover information.
That could put Brady in an increasingly painful position. If Sarah ultimately decides that her feelings for Xander are stronger than her relationship with Brady, another Salem love triangle could be heading toward an explosive breakup.
Meanwhile, Lani Price-Salters has returned to Salem and is helping keep Sweet Bits running while Chanel Dupree recovers from her serious medical ordeal. Lani may be doing everything she can to support her family, but spending her days behind the bakery counter could make her question what she really wants next.
One intriguing possibility is Lani returning to investigative work through Black Patch. Steve and Brady could certainly use someone with law-enforcement experience, and Lani’s background could make her a valuable addition to their efforts against EJ. For now, however, this remains a theory rather than a confirmed development.
With Theo closing in on Johnny’s secret, Steve and Brady searching for evidence, Sarah reconsidering her relationship with Brady, and Lani contemplating her future, Salem is preparing for another major shake-up.
Will Theo confront Johnny and discover the truth about EJ? Can Steve and Brady finally expose the drug scandal? And will Sarah choose Brady—or find herself pulled back into Xander’s orbit once again?
One thing is certain: the secrets surrounding EJ are becoming harder to contain, and when the truth finally comes out, the consequences could reach almost every corner of Salem.
