Steve Burton Faces His Most Dangerous End Yet in 2026!
Steve Burton’s return as Jason Morgan has once again placed him at the center of one of Port Charles’ darkest and most dangerous storylines.
After more than three decades of deaths, disappearances, recastings, and dramatic comebacks, Jason has survived almost everything the soap could throw at him. But this time, the danger may come from someone he never expected to fear: Anna Devane.

Jason returned to Port Charles after another shocking absence, having endured captivity and manipulation at the hands of powerful forces. Now his priorities are different.
More than anything, Jason wants peace and wants to protect his son, Danny Morgan. After Danny lost his mother, Sam McCall, Jason understands that his son cannot afford to lose another parent. Unfortunately, in Port Charles, staying away from danger is almost impossible.
At the same time, Anna Devane is struggling with a disturbing crisis of her own. Although she appears to be surrounded by family and loved ones, she is secretly being tormented by visions of Peter August.
These hallucinations are becoming increasingly powerful, and Peter’s imagined voice is pushing Anna toward a terrifying belief: that her family will never truly be safe while members of Cesar Faison’s family remain alive.
That obsession places Britt Westbourne in serious danger. But Britt may not be the only person caught in Anna’s increasingly dangerous mindset.
If Anna begins viewing anyone who interferes with her mission as an enemy, Jason could quickly become a target himself.
The possibility is especially frightening because Jason is exactly the kind of person who would step in to protect someone he cares about. If he realizes that Britt is in danger, there is little chance he would simply walk away.
Jason has already proven that he is willing to put himself between danger and the people he loves. Unfortunately, that could put him directly in Anna’s path.
Imagine the emotional fallout if Jason is injured while trying to stop Anna. He could end up fighting for his life once again, potentially leaving Danny terrified that he is about to lose his father after already suffering the devastating loss of his mother.
For Jason, however, the decision would likely be simple: protect the innocent, even if it means putting his own life at risk.
What makes this storyline so compelling is that Anna is not a traditional villain. She is a respected member of the Port Charles community who is being consumed by a psychological struggle and influenced by a voice that does not actually exist. That makes the potential confrontation with Jason far more tragic than an ordinary mob war.
And if Jason does go down, the consequences could spread across the entire canvas. Britt may need another protector, new alliances could form, and characters such as Josslyn Jacks and Tristan Roberts could become involved in the rescue effort.
For now, one question hangs over Port Charles: will Jason Morgan survive another deadly confrontation, or is Anna’s unraveling about to push him into the fight of his life? One thing is certain—this time, Jason may not be fighting a conventional enemy. He may be fighting to save someone who does not even realize how dangerous she has become.
