For years, Leon Brown has chosen to live quietly and largely away from the spotlight that once surrounded the Brown family. But now, it appears Leon is ready to open a very different chapter of their life—and this time, they are determined to tell their story in their own words.

The former Sister Wives star recently made a deeply personal revelation about their childhood, describing the religious environment they grew up in as a “cult.” Leon, now 31, shared their thoughts in a TikTok video and made it clear that this was not simply a random confession. Instead, it appears to be the beginning of a much larger story.

Leon explained that as a young child, they were extremely shy and fearful and had very little experience with the outside world. Growing up in Wyoming, Leon was homeschooled before the family eventually moved to Utah.

There, their religious education became an even larger part of everyday life, with church-related schooling and activities taking up much of the week.

What makes Leon’s announcement particularly interesting is the way they describe their own complicated feelings about that upbringing. They acknowledged that there were parts of religious education they genuinely enjoyed, including learning about Jesus and church history.

At the same time, Leon now questions how much of that enjoyment was shaped by the environment they were raised in.

That uncertainty seems to be an important part of the story Leon wants to explore.

And this may only be the beginning.

Leon specifically indicated that their story will “take many forms” and come in multiple parts, asking people who listen to remain respectful.

That statement suggests that there could be much more to come about their childhood, their experiences growing up in the Brown family, and what it was like being raised while cameras documented their life.

For longtime Sister Wives viewers, this could be a significant shift. Leon has intentionally maintained a relatively private life for years, and their mother Meri Brown previously explained that Leon had chosen not to be extremely public.

Now, however, Leon appears ready to reclaim control over the narrative.

This isn’t necessarily about returning to reality television or reopening every old family conflict. Instead, it seems to be about finally having the freedom to explain their own memories and experiences without someone else telling the story for them.

And that could make this new chapter especially powerful.

Leon grew up as part of one of reality television’s most recognizable families, but today they are an adult with their own perspective, their own identity, and their own understanding of the past.
