DOOL Comings & Goings (August 24–28): 5 Massive Returns Rocking Salem!
Salem is about to get a major shake-up as familiar faces return and two new DiMera children arrive. The week of August 24–28 brings emotional reunions, unfinished business, and several casting surprises. With Lexie’s death still affecting Salem, these arrivals could dramatically change the direction of multiple storylines.
The biggest comeback is Matthew Ashford as Jack Deveraux. Jack returns to Salem and quickly reaches out to Gwen, making his comeback especially interesting because of Gwen’s complicated history. His arrival could give Gwen an unexpected ally while also reopening old family wounds.
Another familiar face returning is Richard Wharton as Dr. Rolf. EJ is expected to confront Rolf following the devastating death of Lexie, and their encounter could become extremely tense. Rolf has spent years connected to some of Salem’s most dangerous secrets, so his return could provide answers that EJ desperately needs.
Judi Evans is also back as Bonnie Kiriakis. Her return comes at a particularly emotional time for the Kiriakis family. When Alex needs some private time with Stephanie, he leaves Kelsey with Bonnie, giving the returning character another connection to the current storyline.
But the biggest surprise may be the arrival of two brand-new DiMera children.
Cole Gersmeyer makes his debut as the new Thomas DiMera on August 25. His arrival adds another young member to the powerful DiMera family and could eventually place him directly in the middle of the family’s endless battles.
At the same time, Pippa Blaylock debuts as Charlotte DiMera. Having Thomas and Charlotte arrive together creates plenty of questions about their place within the DiMera family and how they will interact with the adults already fighting for control.
Their arrival could become especially important for Chad, Johnny, EJ, and the rest of the DiMera family. With so many secrets already circulating, the children could unknowingly become connected to a dangerous family conflict.
Meanwhile, Salem is still dealing with the heartbreaking loss of Lexie Carver. Nikki Crawford has wrapped her run as Lexie after the character’s death on August 21, leaving Abe and Theo devastated. Her exit creates an emotional void just as these returning and new characters begin appearing.
The timing could not be more dramatic.
Jack’s return, Rolf’s confrontation with EJ, Bonnie’s appearance, and the arrival of Thomas and Charlotte all give Salem new possibilities for conflict. Gwen may finally receive unexpected help, while EJ could be forced to confront secrets he desperately wants buried.
