The Bold and the Beautiful is heading toward an explosive turning point, and Carter Walton may have just taken his deception to an entirely new level.

The latest spoilers for Friday, September 18, suggest Carter is prepared to go rogue, while Steffy Forrester finds herself trapped between protecting her marriage to Finn and giving up the child she secretly conceived with Carter.

It all goes back to that disastrous night at Forrester Creations. After returning from Monaco, Steffy became vulnerable, got drunk with Carter, and crossed a line she can never take back.

With Finn working extra hospital shifts and the couple experiencing a dry spell, Steffy believes Carter is the father of her baby. When two pregnancy tests came back positive, Steffy was overwhelmed with fear and decided she needed to tell Finn the truth.

But Carter refused to let that happen.

Instead, he reportedly proposed an extraordinary solution: Steffy could carry the baby and pretend to be a clinical surrogate for Carter and Daphne.

Steffy initially rejected the idea, unwilling to give away her own biological child and watch another couple raise the baby while she remained trapped inside a massive lie.

Now Carter appears ready to change tactics.

Rather than convincing Steffy privately, he allegedly goes directly to Daphne and plants the idea that they do not need an unknown surrogate.

They could use someone they already know and trust—Steffy. For Daphne, who is dealing with an early menopause diagnosis and desperately wants to have a child with Carter, this suggestion could sound like an incredible miracle.

And that is exactly why Carter’s strategy could be so dangerous.

If Daphne becomes emotionally invested in Steffy carrying their baby, Steffy will be placed under enormous pressure. Saying no could immediately raise questions. Saying yes, however, would mean participating in a deception that could continue throughout the entire pregnancy.

Meanwhile, Finn remains completely unaware of what is happening. He believes Steffy’s strange behavior is connected to Sheila and has no idea that his wife is secretly wrestling with the possibility of carrying another man’s child.

If Finn discovers that Steffy considered giving away a baby conceived during her affair with Carter, the emotional fallout could be enormous.

Taylor may also become a serious threat to the secret. According to the storyline, she senses that something is wrong with Steffy and begins questioning her daughter. Steffy manages to keep the truth hidden for now, but Taylor’s instincts could eventually lead her toward the answers.

The biggest question is whether Steffy will eventually agree to Carter’s plan. The spoilers suggest she may at least consider it, especially because the alternative could destroy multiple relationships at once.

But agreeing to pretend to be a surrogate would create an almost impossible situation once the baby arrives.

Could Steffy really hand over her biological child and walk away?
