General Hospital Comings and Goings: Shock Nefarious Villain Resurfacing

A diabolical villain may be down, but he’s not out on General Hospital. Here’s the soap’s latest casting news for the week of August 17-21.

The Week of August 17, 2026

General Hospital is preparing to deliver another wave of surprises, returning characters, emotional confrontations, and unexpected developments in Port Charles. Even though Jenz Sidwell has been sentenced to 31 years behind bars, viewers should not assume that his story is finished. Actor Carlo Rota is set to return, bringing Sidwell back into the spotlight under very different circumstances.

This time, Sidwell will reportedly have a new cellmate, and all signs point toward recently convicted Curtis Ashford being the person who ends up sharing his prison space. The combination could create a dangerous and unpredictable partnership, especially considering how much history and tension already exists among the residents of Port Charles.

Meanwhile, Lucy Coe is also receiving more attention, giving Lynn Herring another opportunity to shine in the role that has made her such an unforgettable part of General Hospital. Lucy has never been someone who quietly accepts uncertainty, so viewers should pay close attention to what happens on Tuesday, August 18.

Something is clearly going to rattle the co-founder of Deception, and whatever she discovers could push her into action. Lucy’s instincts often lead her into complicated situations, but they can also uncover secrets that other characters would rather keep hidden.

Rocco Falconeri is also returning to the canvas, with Finn Carr stepping back into the role. Rocco’s return becomes particularly important on Friday, August 21, when Laura Spencer makes a significant request of her grandson.

The nature of that request remains intriguing, especially because Rocco has recently been connected to Danny Morgan in a storyline that could become increasingly dangerous. Carr has already teased that trouble may be coming for Rocco and Asher Antonyzyn’s Danny, suggesting that the two young characters could soon find themselves facing consequences far beyond what they expected.

Another familiar face resurfacing is Hudson, played by Troy Lennon Appel. The Jasper Jacks Enterprises executive will share scenes with Josslyn Jacks and Michael Corinthos, played by Eden McCoy and Rory Gibson. Hudson’s involvement could add another layer to the ongoing business and personal conflicts surrounding these characters.

Whenever corporate interests collide with family loyalties in Port Charles, viewers know that seemingly simple conversations can quickly become major turning points.

At the same time, the supernatural side of Anna Devane’s storyline continues. Wes Ramsey remains part of the show as the late Peter August, whose ghost continues to haunt Finola Hughes’ Anna.

Peter’s presence may be impossible to escape for Anna, especially as memories, guilt, and unresolved emotions continue to affect her. His appearances add an eerie psychological dimension to Anna’s story and keep the character connected to a past she desperately wants to overcome.

Finally, Paige Herschell has officially wrapped up her run as Jacinda Bracken. The escort-turned-Crimson assistant left Port Charles with her boyfriend, Michael, after her dangerous plan to drug Willow Corinthos went horribly wrong. Jacinda’s departure closes another chapter in the ongoing drama, but her actions could still have consequences for those she left behind.

With Sidwell returning, Curtis facing prison life, Rocco getting involved in new trouble, and Anna continuing to battle Peter’s ghost, Port Charles is clearly nowhere near calm.
