In the September 9 episode, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) got an unexpected phone call.

It turns out Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) reached out to a therapeutic boarding school, which has great clinical support and a strong baseball program.

Connor was interested enough to do the research himself and get in touch with this boarding school about his possible acceptance.

That says a lot about Connor’s level of interest and how much he clearly wants to enroll there.

Adam spilled this news to Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and told her this boarding school in Colorado would hold a spot for Connor.

However, the catch is that the school needs a fast answer or else Connor could miss out on his chance.

Despite Chelsea’s fears about Connor deviating from his usual routine and pulling away from them, Adam thinks this could be a good thing for Connor.

It seems likely that once they have an off-screen family meeting, Connor will get his parents’ approval.

Of course, this feels like the show’s way of sending Connor out of town and skipping any story plans for him in Genoa City.

That could change later, especially if Y&R decides to bring a recast Connor home a little older and with a new face.

For now, it seems Connor won’t play a key role in any GC drama to come.

Connor hasn’t been on-screen much in recent years anyway, so this move isn’t all that surprising.

Perhaps the focus could eventually shift to a recast Christian Newman (last played by Alex Wilson) since there have been some mentions of him being a teenager who drives now.

There’d be some fantastic stories to play involving Christian, who is Adam’s biological son and was raised by Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).

Nick asked Adam to look after Christian while he’s battling his drug addiction, but Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) was quick to voice concerns.

The show’s already hinted at some Newman family issues bubbling up regarding Christian, so stay tuned for any trouble ahead.
