The Young and the Restless is bringing several familiar faces back to Genoa City, and their appearances could have a major impact on some of the soap’s biggest storylines. During the week of August 31 through September 4, several guest stars return as secrets, addiction struggles and dangerous plans continue to unfold.
The biggest return is Roger Howarth as Matt Clark.
Matt remains one of the most mysterious figures in Genoa City, and his storyline with Phyllis is about to become even more intense. Howarth appears Tuesday, September 1, before returning Wednesday and Thursday for additional scenes with Michelle Stafford’s Phyllis.

Patty is still incarcerated, but that does not stop her from becoming involved in Matt’s latest plans. On Tuesday, Matt visits Patty, suggesting that he needs something from the woman who has a complicated history with him.
Their meeting could reveal another piece of Matt’s mysterious agenda.
