Young & Restless’ Melissa Claire Egan Shares a Harrowing Update
Melissa Claire Egan has opened up about the heartbreaking loss her family suffered during the devastating wildfires that swept through the Los Angeles area.
As flames tore through neighborhoods, destroyed homes, and forced thousands of residents to flee, many daytime television stars found themselves directly affected by the disaster. Among them was The Young and the Restless actress Melissa Claire Egan, who portrays Chelsea Lawson on the long-running CBS soap.
While the actress was relieved that her loved ones escaped unharmed, she revealed that her family had still experienced an unimaginable loss after a newly purchased home was completely destroyed before they even had the chance to move in.

One of Egan’s former All My Children co-stars, General Hospital‘s Cameron Mathison (Drew), took his followers through the rumble that was left of his home. “We are safe but this is what’s left of our beautiful home,” he stated. “Our home where our kids were raised and where they wanted to raise their own someday… Sending so many prayers to everyone being affected by these fires.”
Following his initial post, Mathison talked to Good Morning America and stated, “I can’t sleep. I’ve lost my home and everything that I own… Every few minutes we’re thinking about things that were in there that are irreplaceable.”
We at Soaps.com are keeping everyone affected by the fires in our thoughts and prayers.
