The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Carter’s Shocking Surrogacy Scheme Puts Steffy, Finn, and Daphne on a Collision Course

After his affair with Steffy Forrester leaves her pregnant, Carter is desperate to prevent the truth from destroying both of their marriages.
But instead of confessing, he proposes something far more complicated: Steffy could become the egg donor and surrogate for Carter and Daphne.
The timing could not be more painful. Daphne is already struggling with the heartbreaking reality that early menopause has taken away her chance of experiencing a natural pregnancy.
She admits that she hates the idea of relying on a stranger and wishes she could find someone she knows and trusts to become her surrogate. Unaware of the secret unfolding around her, Daphne essentially gives Carter the opening he needs to create his shocking plan.
Meanwhile, Steffy is drowning in guilt. She has been on the verge of telling Finn everything about what happened between her and Carter. Finn, however, believes her emotional breakdown is connected to the trauma surrounding Sheila and Monaco.
He has no idea that Steffy may be carrying another man’s child. His attempts to comfort and reassure his wife only make her situation more painful.
Then Carter arrives and changes everything.
Rather than encouraging Steffy to tell the truth, Carter argues that they can protect their marriages by turning the pregnancy into a fake surrogacy arrangement. Steffy would supposedly help Carter and Daphne become parents, while the truth about the baby’s conception remains hidden. According to the storyline, Steffy eventually agrees, despite knowing exactly how dangerous this deception could become.
The biggest problem is that this secret involves far more than Carter and Steffy. Finn is a doctor, meaning medical appointments, pregnancy records, ultrasounds, and other details could create countless opportunities for the truth to surface.
Taylor is also already suspicious of Steffy’s strange behavior, and she could easily begin asking uncomfortable questions once the supposed surrogacy gets underway.
And then there is Daphne. She believes Carter is devoted to her and is willing to do whatever it takes to give her the family she has always wanted.
If she eventually discovers that the baby she believed came through a legitimate surrogacy was actually conceived during Carter’s affair with Steffy, the emotional fallout could be devastating.
Steffy may also discover that carrying the baby for nine months is much harder emotionally than she imagined. Every ultrasound, every movement, and every conversation about the baby could remind her of the secret she is trying to bury. Handing the child over after giving birth could become an unbearable moment.
Ridge could be another major wildcard. He is encouraging Daphne to pursue motherhood without realizing the horrifying truth behind Carter’s plan. If he discovers that Carter betrayed Daphne, involved Steffy, and then created an elaborate deception to hide the affair, his reaction could be explosive.
For now, Steffy and Carter may believe they have found a way out. But on The Bold and the Beautiful, secrets rarely stay hidden forever. The more elaborate the lie becomes, the more people must participate in it—and that means more opportunities for someone to make one fatal mistake.
Will Taylor uncover the truth first? Will Finn discover that Steffy’s pregnancy is not what he thinks? Or will Daphne be the one who finally realizes that the baby she desperately wanted is connected to the betrayal happening right under her nose?
The fake surrogacy may have saved Carter and Steffy from an immediate confession, but it could also be the beginning of an even bigger disaster.
