Salem is about to become a dangerous place for Holly as a mysterious new development brings unexpected trouble into her life. The week of August 31 promises new secrets, suspicious behavior and a shocking newcomer who could have a much bigger impact on Holly than anyone realizes.
The trouble begins when Holly introduces Julie to a new classmate.
At first, the meeting appears completely innocent. Holly has no reason to believe that introducing Julie to Mason Whitfield will create any problems. But Mason is not an ordinary newcomer.
Brandon Butler makes his debut as Mason Whitfield on September 1, immediately giving fans another reason to wonder why this mysterious character has arrived in Salem.
Holly may quickly discover that Mason knows more than he is willing to reveal.
His arrival could expose information about Sophia, Tate or another part of Holly’s complicated past. If Mason has a hidden connection to someone Holly knows, she could suddenly find herself caught in a situation she never expected.
And Holly may not realize the danger until it is too late.
Meanwhile, someone else appears to be watching the events unfolding around Salem.
EJ, Chad and Belle are already dealing with the mystery surrounding Stefano’s chessboard. Their investigation takes them to Italy, but the three do not realize that someone is keeping a close eye on them.
That secret surveillance could eventually have consequences for Holly as well.
Back in Salem, Holly continues struggling with the emotional pressure surrounding her relationship with Tate. By Friday, she opens up to him, suggesting that something has happened during the week that leaves her needing someone she can trust.
Tate may become the person Holly turns to when she realizes she cannot handle everything alone.
But Tate may not be able to protect her from every threat.
Another dangerous development comes from Rita, who refuses to follow orders exactly as expected. Her unexpected decision could create chaos and put several Salem residents at risk.
Holly could therefore find herself surrounded by secrets without knowing who she can trust.
The biggest mystery remains Mason.
